Select files older than (today-30 days)

Post by *tcebob »

Can't find a way to do that. I'm trying to set up a rule for *.sv$ *.ac$ *.tmp *.bak and older than 1 month, so I can delete them. I can't simply inverse the selection if I use Not Older since there are other files which need to be kept.

Tried saying Not Older than -30. The program accepted but would not find any.

Thanks,

tcebob

For such jobs you can use the excellent LogMonitor utility. I have set up rules to archive files and delete old archives. I will gladly share them with you if needed.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

Log Monitor looks good for automating the process but I'd rather keep it under TC if possible.

About the possibility to use a fixed date in "Date between:" you know, right?

Use Date between option instead. Check it. Change actual date in and textbox to desired value.

I also suggested that, but then quickly removed the post, ;) 'cause this search pattern cannot be saved for quick use. More exactly, it can be saved, but it will also save the date for which it will search. But tcebob needs search pattern that defines files that are 30 days earlier than the current date.
I'm afraid, currently this is impossible without external tools. But if use, for example, Windows PowerPro, it can be used (write macro for it that will automatically set the date 1 month before the current in the fields of Find Files dialog).
