A small issue in Windows sound settings for 'Connected (FTP)

Post by *HerbieH »

I just noticed, there is a Total Commander Sound notification option (in Windows Sound settings) for 'Connected (FTP)'.

It doesn't work, if you choose 'Only play for long operations:' in TC 'Misc' settings.
Maybe the 'Connected (FTP)' setting should be excluded from the delay setting.

I do know, that this is a very small issue, and I doubt hardly anyone uses the 'Connected (FTP)' sound setting.
But the option exists, so ideally it should work.
Ps. I use all of the other notification sound possibilities -with a delay. :P

Actually it does work as intended: It plays the sound when the connection process takes longer than the configured number of seconds. I tested it with a delay of 1 second: One server (ghisler.ch) connects in less than a second, so there is no alert. The other (ghisler.com) takes a bit more, and there is an alert. The idea of the delay is that you only get an alert when an operation takes longer. For example, a long time ago public FTP servers were limiting the number of concurrent users, so you had to retry multiple times until you could get in.
