Thanks for Tc11 / 3 importent new features/changes in it

Post by *JOUBE »

Thank you for the release of Tc11. Congratulation for 30 years of Windows/Total Commander. Hopefully the development will continue for a few more years:

Code: Select all

02.08.23 Release Total Commander 11.00 final

3 importent new features/changes in TC11 for me are:

1. (far ahead): F6 Move:

Code: Select all

06.04.23 Fixed: Trying to move a large folder on the same drive with F6 could take a long time if the user confirmed the operation before the size of the folder could be determined (32/64)
2. Handling and expanding of the Directory Hotlist ([DirMenu])

Code: Select all

21.06.23 Added: Directory hotlist: Increased maximum to 2000 entries, max 128k per section, show error if there isn't enough space to save list (32/64)
09.07.23 Fixed: Directory hotlist (Ctrl+D): The option to add items directly to a subfolder was lost (64)
12.07.23 Added: Configure directory hotlist (Ctrl+D) or Start menu: Show number of current item (1-based as in wincmd.ini) above the list of entries (32/64)
12.07.23 Added: Configure directory hotlist (Ctrl+D): remember the last shown position in wincmd.ini [Configuration] DirMenuLast= (1-based) (32/64)
14.07.23 Fixed: Directory hotlist, add entry in submenu or delete entry: Write entire section [dirmenu] to store it in sorted order and much faster, warn if section too big (32/64)
....
3. Sync tool: Counter logged to log file:

Code: Select all

ghisler(author): But I will write the value to the log file

I failed to figure out what these 2 changes mean. Could anyone help?

It is the little number marked with red in this screenshot: https://tcmd.madsenworld.dk/dirhotlisconfigitemno.png - it shows the number of the current highlighted item - here number 2 (starts with number 1)

12.07.23 Added: Configure directory hotlist (Ctrl+D): remember the last shown position in wincmd.ini [Configuration] DirMenuLast= (1-based) (32/64)
Next time you open the configuration dialog the item (in my example number 2) will be selected.

It is for people who has very long directory lists.

NO: For MANY more years! :D

I cannot die. I'm always waiting for the next technology developments in science - ..for people to get to Mars (..and infinity and beyond) ..and for fusion energy ..and, of course always looking forward to new cool features of TC.

Thumbs up to Mr. Ghisler and to you all .
