How to copying my wcx_ftp.ini to new computer ?

Post by *paladin42 »

How do I copy the ftp settings from one computer to another? What file(s) are they held in?
I tried copying the wcx_ftp.ini file (which seems to have the info) and the wincmd.ini file, but the new computer doesn't 'see' the info.

You have to copy wcx_ftp.ini to the correct directory which is: %COMMANDER_INI%\..

It depends on where you let TC install it's settings files, you seem to have done that differently on the new and the old computer.

Where did you have wcx_ftp.ini and wincmd.ini on your old computer?

Please check in menu Help - About Total Commander where the file wcx_ftp.ini is located on the old computer. Then do the same on the new computer to find out where you have to copy it.

You can just re-run the installer and choose "normal install", then choose a different target.
