Image browsing

Would it be possible to implement image browsing continuously and not one by one as is the case now?
Is it perhaps a limitation of the Android gallery app or Google Photos?

Yes, they open a special preview dialog when receiving a file from another app, not their normal browser.
When an app still accepts file:// urls, then you can define an internal association for .jpg and disable "content://url", this allows to see the file itself in these programs, and often enables browsing.
