Hello,
I've been a long time TC user, and paying one for more than 5 years. So I install updates when prompted.
I'm not sure if this is an issue in 11.01 (possibly in 11.00 as well, because I've tried to reinstall it, and seemed to behave the same).
Basically, I have several folders on my computer and I manually backup then on external drives (memory stick and HDDs), as well over the local network to administrative shares (\\OTHERCOMP\D$) but using administrative credentials.
It works great, but just to make sure, once the "remote" folder update completes (modified files, newly added files, removed files), I press Space in order to check that I get the exact same size (I think it's in bytes) between Source and Destination.
In previous TC versions, pressing Space would take some time to calculate all sizes from the underneath files and folder, it was faster only if I went back to folders I synchronized before.
Now I'm under the impression the result is displayed EXTREMLY fast, but it's seemingly / probably taken from a cache. Why do I think that? Because even if sync is done between local HDD and two particular targets: a FAT32 memory stick and the mapped drives, the displayed size is not the same! I descend to the respective subfolder, I check that the files are exactly the same, but the folder containing them display different sizes between source and destination.
I'll try to make an animated .GIF showing the issue, I might send it directly to the owner (because of the personal nature of files and folders).
Thank you!
Vlad

Is there a string EverythingForSize=1 in wincmd.ini ? Is the Everything program running?

Overquoting is evil! 👎
Re: Disk space check (using space key) after folder sync issue?
The answer is yes to both questions. So I understand the "issue": TC doesn't actually calculate the size, it takes the info from Everything, which hasn't updated the respective drives (especially the remote). How do I change the EverythingForSize in the wincmd.ini from 1 to 0? Thanks!
LE. I've found it, thank you very much for pointing me to the right setting!
LLE Thank you so much *Fla$her, unchecking that Everything setting (I like Everything and discovered it via TC, but I thought I was in the Search section
it also solved a somewhat related issue where TC was hanging while comparing folders for syncing over the mapped drives, I was pulling my hair off because of it! Have a great weekend!

Since this isn't a bug, I'm moving this thread to the English forum.
