button/user command to securely erase selected files/folders

Post by *kodepr »

Hi,

I would like to create a button to securely erase selected files/folders.
I don't mind if it 's making use of a plugin or an dedicated external erase tool that is "portable" (but preferably not using a dedicated external erase tool that has to be installed though).

Since I have no idea where to start (what plugin or external tool to use, how to implement it in TC) I thought I'd ask here.
Only tool I know is heidi eraser, but that has no command line options and as far as I know, it has to be installed...

I'm currently using TC v10.00 64-bit portable.

Thanks in advance!

WIPE - available as packer plugin, file system plugin and standalone - only 32-bit, so you can plugins with 32-bit TC, while standalone also on 64-bit TC.

Hi,

Thanks for the links.
totalcmd.net does not seem to be accessible, though.
I'm currently using Total Commander Version 10.00 64bit

Perhaps the sdelete cli utility by Microsoft https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/sdelete

Edit https://www.gaijin.at/en/software/wipefile also supports command line options

I have split this topic to keep topic about "button/user command to securely erase selected files/folders".
The new topic can be found here: SDelete (Microsoft Sysinternals)
