[TC 11.02] Unpacking Zip-files with integrated Zip engine
I unzip a packed file with the integrated Zip engine of TC which contains files in directories and sub-directories.
After unpacking I see the directory (containing the files and sub-directories) only in the Windows Explorer but NOT in TC 11.02 (64-bit).
Downgrading to TC 11.01 (64-bit) solves the problem.
A workaround is when I manually when I create a 2nd directory and move the files via drag&drop from the Windows Explorer into that manually created directory in TC.

Re: [TC 11.02] Unpacking Zip-files with integrated Zip engine
A directory on my SSD with about 800 GB free space, formatted in NTFS.
[Edit] Why does it matter? Downgrading to TC 11.01 and extracting the same zip-file into the same directory with the integrated Zip engine from that version does work and I see the created directory in TC and Windows Explorer. With TC 11.02 the directory is also created but I only see it in Windows Explorer.

Does the problem only occur with a particular zip file or also with a zip file with similar folder structure and containing test files?
In case of the latter, can you give instructions on how to reproduce it?

Re: [TC 11.02] Unpacking Zip-files with integrated Zip engine
It happens with multiple zip-files.
Intructions how to reproduce the error:
1. Use a Windows 11 Version 22H2 (Build 22621.2715) OS
2. Install TC 11.02 (64-bit) and start it
3. Select a zip-file containing files in directories and sub-directories
4. Configure your TC 11.02 to use the internal Zip engine
5. Enter the top level of the zip-file you want to unzip on one side of the TC (by pressing "enter" while highlighting the .zip-filename) and the destination where to unzip the directory (containing the files in subdirectories) on the other
6. Unzip by pressing F5 (Copy)
7. Check for the unzipped directory (containing the files in subdirectories) -> not present.
8. Open Windows Explorer and check for the directory-> present.
9. Go back to TC 11.02 and try to create the directory manually by pressing F7 (New Folder) -> you can't as it's present already but still not visible in TC
10. Downgrade to TC 11.01 (64-bit)
11. Repeat steps 3. to 6. in TC 11.01
12. You immediately see the directory on the side where you copied the files into.

Re: [TC 11.02] Unpacking Zip-files with integrated Zip engine
I can't confirm the issue, and though I'm not on Win11 I don't think this matters.
It's probably a virus scanner or similar background interfering because version 11.02 is still new. Can you reproduce this with a clean wincmd.ini via?

Not confirmed.
Following all your steps.
Before you can press F5 you have to select some files/dirs inside the zip
to not getting a "No files selected"
I guess you unzip dirs which have the hidden or system attribute set.
TC by default will not show such objects
and your Explorer setting allows showing them.
TC Configuration / Display
Check "Show hidden files" and "Show system files"

Re: [TC 11.02] Unpacking Zip-files with integrated Zip engine
It's enough to enter the zip file. There's just one directory which contails all the files and sub-directories, therefore it's already highlighted when entering the zip-file and will automatically marked / selected when pressing F5 (copy).Horst.Epp wrote: 2023-11-17, 13:25 UTC [...]

The "Show system files" in the TC 11.02 Configuration did the trick, thanks.
I checked the top directory in my zip-file and it has an exclamation mark above the directory icon.
I'm now asking myself why TC 11.01 ignored that and "converted" it to a "normal" directory while unzipping ...
[Edit] Shortened the quotation to only relevant parts

Re: [TC 11.02] Unpacking Zip-files with integrated Zip engine
I just checked TC 11.01 and TC 11.02 for unpacking a directory marked as hidden and system - both versions unpack the directory as a hidden directory.I'm now asking myself why TC 11.01 ignored that and "converted" it to a "normal" directory while unzipping .
Did you use the same wincmd.ini file when testing TC 11.01 as when testing TC 11.02? - If not, then maybe displaying hidden/system folders was enabled in your TC 11.01 but not in your TC 11.02

Re: [TC 11.02] Unpacking Zip-files with integrated Zip engine
When up- or downgrading TC the options in the Configuration does not change, they remain the same. Somehow I saw the directory while unpacking with TC 11.01 and with TC 11.02 I didn't (like I described it five postings above). Probably just a glitch of my Windows.
Regardless, the issue is solved, therefore this thread can be closed.
Thanks to all involved who helped solving it, I really appreciate it.
