ICO-Icons werden nicht mehr angezeigt

Hallo!

Normalerweise wird (bei mir) in meinem speziellen Icon-Verzeichnis in der TC-Dateiliste links vom Dateinamen jeder *.ico - Datei jeweils genau das Icon angezeigt, das diese Datei beinhaltet. Sieht also schön bunt aus in dieser Liste. Und ist sehr praktisch für die Auswahl eines Icons.

Dummerweise habe ich bei einem Rechtsklick im Kontextmenü unter "Bearbeiten" aus blödsinnigen Gründen irgendein Proggi ausgewählt. In Folge wird in meinem Icon-Verzeichnis unisono nur noch das Icon dieses Programms angezeigt, logischerweise. Im Explorer übrigens genauso, ist also keine TC-spezifische Zuordnung.

Frage: Wie muß ich was in Windows (oder den TC-Verknüpfungen?) einstellen, damit ich wieder die individuellen Icons bei jeder *.ico - Datei sehe?

Regedit.exe öffnen und diesen Key prüfen und korrigieren:

Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.ico
Werte:
(Default) = icofile
Content Type = image/x-icon
PerceivedType = image

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.ico prüfen
Wenn vorhanden, den Key/Ordner "UserChoice" löschen.

Zur Sicherheit prüfen:

Werte:
(Default) = %1

Danach Windows neu starten.

Ein Teilerfolg war damit möglich: Der Explorer zeigt die ICO-Icons jetzt richtig an.

Nicht aber der TC: Dort hält sich hartnäckigst das unisono Prog-Icon, selbst dann noch, wenn ich das betreffende Programm (probehalber) lösche. Auch ein Austausch der wincmd.ini von einer früher gespeicherten Version hilft nicht. Es könnte evtl. an einem TC-Eintrag in der Registry liegen, der jedoch nicht den Namen das betreffenden Programms enthält.

Benötige wohl nochmal Hilfe.

DefaultIcon muss auf %1 oder "%1" gesetzt werden, damit Total Commander das Symbol aus der Symboldatei lädt.

Inzwischen - wohl durch das viele Ausprobieren - zeigt auch der Explorer keine Icons mehr, nur noch ein weißes Blatt vor jeder [Name].ico. Vorübergehend, hoffentlich. Ich achte auch jedesmal darauf, daß alle oben erwähnten Reg-Einträge stimmen, inkl. Neustarts.

Gemeint ist nicht, einen Wert namens "(Default)" anzulegen, sondern den ohnehin schon im RegEdit sichtbaren Default-Wert auf "%1" zu ändern. Dieser Default-Wert heißt auf Deutsch "(Standard)" oder "(Vorgabe)" und ist in jedem Schlüssel verfügbar; in .reg Dateien wird dieser Wert mit @ eingeleitet. Beispiel (ohne Verbindung zum Thema):

Das Icon von ACDSee ist auch dasjenige, welches unisono bei allen ICO-Dateien angezeigt wird.
Die von mir auch heute noch verwendete ACDSee-Version ist die uralte 3.1, die für mich immer noch viel praktischer ist als die neueren Versionen.

Habe jetzt folgendes gemacht:

1. ACDSee korrekt deinstalliert, also über Systemsteuerung/Software, und Neustart. Zuvor - siehe oben - hatte ich nur das Programmverzeichnis woandershin verschoben, um den Icons in der Dateiliste das Bild (aus ACDSee.exe) zu entziehen, aber ohne Erfolg.
Neustart.

2. ACDSee neu installiert. Dabei aber die Dateizuordnung ICO deaktiviert. Dann meine ACDSee-Sicherungs-REG mit meinen gewünschten Einstellungen wieder eingespielt.
Neustart.

3. Noch kein Erfolg.
Bei Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.ico: "(Default) = icofile" angegeben.
Und bei Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\icofile\DefaultIcon: "(Default) = %1"
Neustart.

4. Erfolg: Die Icons in der Dateiliste werden wieder richtig angezeigt: Individuell bunt pro Datei.
@Dalai: Default oder Standard: Geht beides, scheint egal zu sein.

5. In ACDSee die Dateizuordnung ICO wieder aktiviert: Kein Problem, alles paßt weiterhin.

6. RegistryInfo.exe mit ICO erneut laufen lassen:

Die totale ACDSee-Infektion von vorher scheint jetzt verschwunden zu sein. Die Ausgabe ist deutlich schlanker (kürzer) geworden und es funktioniert jetzt auch alles wieder wie vorher.

Aber vielleicht kann uns ja wer erklären, was da eigentlich los war?

Das sieht deutlich besser aus. Zuvor war der Standardwert von [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.ico] auf "%1" gestellt.
Das hat dann auf [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\%1] verwiesen, und dort stand acdsee drin. [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\%1\DefaultIcon] existierte nicht.

Nun zeigt [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.ico] auf "icofile", und dort ist [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\icofile\DefaultIcon] auf "%1" gesetzt.

...mußte das erst 3x lesen, bis ich es verstanden habe. Bin bei meinen Bemühungen anscheinend immer genau falsch dazwischen gegangen. Das ist manchmal das Theater mit diesen Registrybezügen in Echtzeit. Sie werfen sich die Bälle zu und man schafft es kaum, dazwischenzugrätschen. Danke für die Aufklärung!
