You may not believe it, but there are people who prefer the Explorer type file management with one tree and one file panel.

You are right, I don't believe
As said, I miss all benefits of a 2 pane file manager.
Most of the time I don't even use a tree.
Jumping to arbitrary folders is so easy with Everything,
rest is the Hotlist, some buttons and tab lists.
