Which is the trick to TC to Upload files to FTP server quicker than WinFTP ?

I can see that Total Commander is way much faster than Windows internal FTP command, uploading binray files (a backup set) to a remote NAS. Which is the trick to be so better?

It's probably due to the dynamic upload block size: The faster the connection, the larger the buffer I'm using to send blocks of the file to the server.

Maybe the other program sets a smaller TCP send window, which sets an upper limit on the speed based on distance. Programs can set it themselves or inherit it from Windows. This only impacts bigger files.
