cm_SyncChangeDir funny bug in 6.03a...

Post by *wanderer »

Steps to reproduce the bug:

1. Config\Display\"Show parent dir also in root of drive": checked.
2. Have both TC panels show C:\
3. create a directory called "Temp1"
4. In left panel, cd to "Temp1"
5. In there, create a directory called "Program Files" or something else that exists in C:\
6. Activate cm_SyncChangeDir command
7. In left panel, cd to "Program Files"
8. In left panel, cd to ".."
9. In left panel, cd to ".." again.

see what happens? :)

It's funny indeed but not too serious. Hope Christian has the time to correct it before releasing 6.50.

And, BTW, don't you thing we have too many "Announcement" and "Sticky" posts in the beginning of this forum? They are indeed useful but aren't they too many?

Have fun...

see what happens?
Here is my test result:

9. (In left panel, cd to ".." )
Expected:
Left=C:\
Right=\\My Drives (I guess that's the English name for that)

Result:
Left=\\Desktop
Right=C:\

Yes, I confirm this weird behaviour.

That's right. No matter the depth of the path you're in, it always returns to \\Desktop when the other path is at its root :).

If i remember correctly, Christian once said that this is normal behaviour. I think he has done it like this because he wanted it to stop there after many quick Ctrl-PageUp keypresses. Perhaps with a little search you will find the relevant thread.

This little bugger still exists in TC 6.50. Can someone call the exterminator please? :)
