Re: [TC 11.50b2] No confirmation before deleting file when using drag&drop
When deleting to recycle bin, the user has a choice to either delete with or without confirmation. Therefore I respect this choice.
When deleting directly, there is no such option, so the option to not show any confirmation for drag&drop is applied directly.

I'm confused. When deleting directly, Windows offers the same option to show confirmation. It's literally the same option. (It would be very weird if Windows would offer confirmation before deleting to recycle bin, but not when deleting directly.)ghisler(Author) wrote: ↑2024-10-28, 09:39 UTC When deleting to recycle bin, the user has a choice to either delete with or without confirmation. Can you answer this question too please?

No, Windows does not allow to turn off the confirmation when deleting directly. When deleting directly, Windows offers the same option to show confirmation.

That's not true. Screenshotghisler(Author) wrote: ↑2024-10-29, 11:24 UTC No, Windows does not allow to turn off the confirmation when deleting directly.
Besides that, if Windows wouldn't allow disabling the confirmation, that would make it even less logical for you to bypass it.
And why would you only allow permanent deletion without confirmation when using the mouse and not when using the keyboard?

Re: [TC 11.50b2] No confirmation before deleting file when using drag&drop
I meant the case where the recycle bin for a specific drive is enabled, but the confirmation is disabled. In this case, the Delete key deletes the file directly to recycle bin in Explorer, but Shift+Delete still causes a confirmation.
It would probably be best to have a separate option "Drag&Drop to F8 Delete button"...

That would indeed make it optional, as I've mentioned twice before as a viable solution.ghisler(Author) wrote: ↑2024-10-30, 07:51 UTC It would probably be best to have a separate option "Drag&Drop to F8 Delete button"...
Re: [TC 11.50b2] No confirmation before deleting file when using drag&drop
Tested OK using TC 11.50b4 32-bit and 64-bit.30.10.24 Added: Configuration - Options - Misc.: Split new option "Drag&Drop to button 'F8 Delete'" from option "Drag&Drop" above it (32/64)
But can you change the label of the option:
to better English:Drag&Drop to the button 'F8 Delete'
Drag&Drop onto the 'F8 Delete' button

Well, that's what Google translate suggests, but is it really better?

Not anymore? It doesn't mean much with such short text which isn't a sentence. I tested it and got your line except with "on" instead of "to". Then I added "die Datei" to the line and the suggestion changed to my line. And now even the short line gets translated my way. Even if I try it in Windows Sandbox.
In my opinion, yes.

Well, we really need a native English speaker here - but even then it probably depends on the speaker whether they use "to" or "onto".

Re: [TC 11.50b2] No confirmation before deleting file when using drag&drop
The current text is quite clunky. Especially the placement of the word "button" causes unnatural flow. You would use the word "to" with the word "drag" and you would use the word "on" or "onto" with the word "drop" or "drag & drop".ghisler(Author) wrote: ↑2024-10-31, 08:08 UTC Well, we really need a native English speaker here - but even then it probably depends on the speaker whether they use "to" or "onto".
