Re: Imagine (Lister plugin for viewing img files) v. 1.7.2 (Dec 22 2024)

Post by *Gokhan »

Imagine & Total commander crashed when I opened some PNG files using lister (imagine) in Total commander.
Imagine v1.7.0 not crashed
but Imagine v1.7.1 & v1.7.2 crashed

If I use Imagine v1.7.2 directly (run Imagine64.exe), there is no problem viewing PNG files. But in the lister (imagine) in Total commander view some PNG files imagine & Total commander crashed.

I contacted Sejin Chun few days ago, trying to solve issues with some png on my computers.
He shared with me a dev version of 1.7.3 for 64bit and finally found a fix for the crash just for a try you can test https://www.nyam.pe.kr/temp/Imagine64.7z
You must ensure than the imagine64.dll is not in memory anymore and plugin unloaded before the update. Just put the file in imagine folder after doing a backup of 1.7.2 one.
My advise is anyhow to be back to 1.7.0 version and then wait for 1.7.3 version before update.

There is an installation problem with blocked DLL files Imagine64.dll, *.plg64. It only works after closing all TCmd instances and restart TCmd without using Lister.

Hmm, I can't find any installation problems here.
  1. TC 11.51RC3 (x64) - Imagine_1.8.0_x64_Unicode_Full.zip
    Installation carried out in C:\totalcmd\Plugins\wlx\Imagine\

  2. TC 11.51RC3 (x86) - Imagine_1.8.0_Unicode_Full.zip
    Installation carried out in C:\totalcmd\Plugins\wlx\Imagine_32-bit\

  3. Both TC instances were open.

It occurs from time to time. Restarting TC and reupdating the blocked files is the only option then. I consider it rather a natural behavior.

Imagine v. 1.8.0 (Jan 31 2025)

Post by *Gral »

2 tuska- it occurs with EXE installer.

The most annoying thing is that I always install a new version of Imagine in a new directory, so there is no file that needs to be deleted or replaced by the new version.

Thanks for the info.

I had this problem once before.
However, I've only been using the ZIP version for a long time.

I used Imagine_1.8.0_x64_Unicode_Full.zip, where the error occurred. Since the wlx file itself is not affected, the TCmd released this DLL correctly. It would be the task of the lister to also release the DLL used by it before shutting down.
