Most likely my fault, but I can't add new templates (neither in 1.8.0 nor in 1.8.1).
F7 - options - manage templates. Entering a template like "%Y-%N-%D %H-%M-%S" and a name, pressing "add", and "apply".
Result: Gone. nowhere to find...

Thank you for your report - its not your fault, looks like to be a little bug about handling Templates because of the recent unicode conversion, sorry!
I just made a fix for it, which I'm gonna release soon along with some more updated languages.

Bugfix release which fixes mostly unicode support-related problems, and also includes a bunch of updated languages.

Starting from the previous 1.7 version, extDir supports the (batch) creation of files as well.
( Important: You need to turn it ON in the configuration, if you'd like to use it to create files as well! )

Re: Total Commander extDir v1.8.3 - Extended directory & file creator
Is there a way to fix initial run speed? extDir initial run takes 1 to 3 seconds.

2Ceras:
I'm gonna look into it, its surprising because it definitely supposed to be much faster than that.
On my PC it opens up in about 0.25 - 0.36 sec on first instance, second run is even faster.
One idea would be to try to put it on a SSD/M.2 if its not yet, and also worths to add it to Windows Defender ignore list, just in case it would try to scan it before run (especially because it doesn't have digital signature, so Windows can do extra checkups on it).
Win11 / i5-13600K [3500 MHz] / 32 GB RAM here, what OS/config ur trying it?
Also, can you please try a previous version to see if it was running faster or not? (i'm wondering, if the Unicode support might be a factor for a slow down on your machine?)
[ The version before the Unicode support (1.7.0) is available here: https://bluesoft.hu/software/tcextDir/Total_Commander_extDir_v1.7.0_utility.zip ]
Anyone else also experiencing slow opening on first run?
