Sticking to the forum rules and writing Q's about TC kills excessive control.

For those who must feel free in e-world, since real one does not provide it, I propose opening another forum for offtopics, history lessons, socio-psychological analyses, politics and philosophy.

Oh, I forgot that there are already 1 mio forums like that online...

the rest of the community is the control.

if one or more of the rest see that one mods is writing something false - they will help you (or should :))

if no one helps you - could ist be that you´re wrong?

Complain at Ghisler. He's the one who makes the rules in this board.

But I guess you would not be successful. In the opinion of the most users there is nothing 'excessive controlled' here.
And maybe in the opinion of some users there should be a bit more controlled. ;)

IMHO if you were controlled excessive you would not be able to post such a provocative question. You probably mix up freedom of press with rules of a private forum.

Dont forget, that being totally anonymous on a forum gives the feeling of security, so many users just enable themselfs a behaviour that they would never dare in the real world. We dont even know who you are, not to mention where you live and if you use an anonymous proxy, Christian has no chance to find out anything about you. If you were banned from this forum (which is VERY unlikely) you could return in five minutes with another IP address, another username. The keyword being private forum, who can tell the owner of a forum, how to reply, correct or punish a forum member. If you read the previous flame wars between Norfie and Icfu, you will understand Christians (IMHO wise) choice of the moderators here. After all, we are talking about Total Commander here, and if you get corrected by a moderator here, that probably means, that the majority, including Christian (this is settled in the rules of the forum) does not agree with the way you present your opinion. If you get offended, you can leave or remain read only, just as icfu did (and we all feel very sorry for that). Why being offended anyway? This forum is about Total Commander, where you can receive very good advices concerning using this excellent product. Dont forget though, that most of us are almost religiously fanatic about TC ;-)
BTW Christian chose the moderators after a public vote, and only because the majority of users wanted a moderator here!

I think this was my longest post here in the forum so far :-)

JP,
Any idea about how to control the excessive control?
a) write an email to a moderator of your choice
b) start a thread, but please prepend it with "[OT]"
c) if you really feel the need, write to Christian Ghisler

There are already some threads:
English:

First: why don't you wait to see the results of you poll before you assume this topic is really an issue. Up till now your 'NO FREEDOM' has only 1 vote (and that one is probably by yourself)

Second: As said by others beroe: This is a public board, but it is meant for the support of software program called Total Commander, IIRC! So discussions about politics, religion, sexual preferences, your dogs name (useless it's called TC :) ) are not relevant and should be conducted elsewhere. Moderation is needed to keep the topics related to the support of TC and stop people shouting all kinds of crap about each other and blabbing about all other stuff.
Christian has already commented a couple of times that he does allow other discussions, as long as people treat each other with respect and behave as-if they were talking to each other face to face in normal life. I assume the moderator team knows that and act accordingly. So it’s not that difficult to conclude out of (A) the purpose of this board and (B) the accepted policy that -for example- all references to topics concerning W.W.II are just out of place here and will be moderated. I don't see the problem. Or are you just looking for one because you don't have anything else to do or anybody else to talk to?

To support the moderating team and to make my post a little more enjoyable, I would like to finish with some related quotes that came to mind as I typed this message .

Well, not anymore, i was the second  in a rather sarkastic meaning, who is free today in the way JP interprets it? It is true, there is no freedom in this sense, but i wonder if i want to live in a world where everybody is... umm... "free"... :?:

Don't drink and drive when you can smoke and fly...

Using and applying laws is not an opposition to freedom it's a freedom protection mechanism.
