Ignore password protected archives while searching

Post by *b1Ack »

Hello everyone!

Is there any way to ignore password protected archives with encrypted filenames while making a search of file by name, and also ignore all password protected archives if searching file by content ?

Or maybe add a list of passwords, not just one to try while making a search ?

It could be done for internal packers, but not for plugins which ask the user themselves for the password. TC has no way to know whether a plugin-specific file is encrypted or not.

It would be useful if plugins could ask for passwords using TC password dialog...

There I use it is not so much plugin-specific things. Most of them are 7zip, all other are rar or zip - password is required in TC dialog.
How I can override it at least for this archives ?
Most of them use less than 10 different passwords, others few are unknown (installer-hardcoded) or random source downloads.
I see only a checkbox to remember one password. If it not match - password is required to enter.

You can't yet, Christian have only stated that it is possible to implement just within TC.

You can't because packer plugins and external packers will automatically ask for a password...

The only simple way i know is to use ExtractNow utility it use a password file . As password are not known nor stored (exept in a single TC session) you must use a script or utility to try stored password one by one until you find a matching one.

You should suggest a password list support for internal packer in ad-hoc forum.
