Unfortunately, I did not leave this archive for testing :( Maybe you still have it and you will post it for download?

I think it was this one (only the problem files inside):

Yes, this is the right archive. Thanks a lot.
I checked. 11.56 produces the error described at the beginning of the topic. 11.57b1 writes "The function is not supported." Apparently this is a solution to the problem. I received the same message when trying to use Shift+F6 in password-protected archives. It turns out that it is now better not to use the Total7zip plugin for unpacking archives.
The topic can be closed.

Do you use Total7zip? Then you will get the error because it doesn't support this archive with multiple duplicate names.

If you use the internal 7zip packer instead, you should now be able to modify the archive.

Everything is exactly like that. It turns out that the “Prefer 7-Zip plugin if installed” checkbox cannot now be checked. Since the existing plugins are outdated and only interfere with work. Could this be noted in the certificate? Or is it better to make the checkbox deactivated without the possibility of installation?

Well, total7zip doesn't have problems with "normal" archives, but yours isn't normal containing the same folder multiple times. I had to write a special workaround to handle this in the internal 7zip unpacker.

Almost the only function for which total7zip is now needed is logging into archives using Ctrl+PgDn. If you solved this problem, you could abandon the plugin. In 11.57b1 I completely stopped using total7zip to create archives. The external archiver function fully copes with this functionality.
But when unpacking total7zip is needed. Moreover, through the PackerPlugins settings. Using a checkmark in the settings is now even harmful.

Can you explain what you need to do with Total7zip what the internal 7zip unpacker can't do? Ctrl+PgDn should also work with the internal 7zip unpacker. Or do you mean other formats like ISO which aren't currently supported by the internal unpacker?

Just other formats. The external archiver works great now. The only thing missing is working with other formats. In this case, the necessary libraries are used. Maybe you can support other formats?

Which other formats supported by 7zip do you actually use? They either seem to be supported internally already (like ZIP), or very exotic. The only one I found useful was ISO.

At a minimum:
bzip2=735,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
cab=196,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
esd=196,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
ima=196,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
img=196,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
imp=196,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
imz=196,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
iso=196,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
vhd=196,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
wim=735,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
vmdk=196,%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
You also often come across Linux archives.

Why install a separate plugin if Total7zip supports these extensions.
ghisler(Author) wrote: 2026-03-04, 08:33 UTC cab is handled internally
A long time ago I registered all the extensions that Total7zip supports and didn’t do it anymore.

This is a Windows image. It has long been used instead of wim.
For now, you can’t do without Total7zip. But I want to. To do this, you need to use the dll from a full-fledged 7Zip. And so that an external archiver supports them.

I also have these:
ozb=12,%COMMANDER_PATH%\PLUGINS\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
jar=212,%COMMANDER_PATH%\PLUGINS\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
xpi=212,%COMMANDER_PATH%\PLUGINS\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx
xz=731,%COMMANDER_PATH%\PLUGINS\wcx\Total7zip\Total7zip.wcx

Of course, I have these and all other extensions registered. I just didn't include them in the "common" ones. By the way, Total7zip uses the ArchView plugin. So it is impossible to get rid of it.
