Random unexplained hanging crashes 11.56 x64

Anybody else experiencing an unusual spate of completely random, unexplained, no error log, unreproducible and unpredictable 'hanging' of running instances of TC 11.56 x64?

I'm getting at least one a day, sometimes multiple 'hangs' in a single day. The program just stops responding and hangs in a dead Explorer state with everything greyed out. It never proceeds to a full crash, so I never get an error log to see what causes it. I haven't tested the GPU or RAM sticks, but the same computer is used regularly for video encoding which stresses both things to the max and yet, the encoder software never fails, it's always just TC, so I'm doubting the possibility of hardware fault.

It's easy enough to kill the running process and restart, but it's kind of annoying and is a big difference from previous versions. I wish I could point the finger at something, but there's literally nothing to go on. I can't say it always happens when I do this, or that. It seems completely random to me. Anybody else seeing something similar?

It could be a faulty plugin, that you have installed or updated recently.

You can use the free tool "what is hang" to find out where Total Commander is hanging:

Please post the results here for analysis, or send them to me by e-mail. Please check the data first for sensitive information (and replace it).

Does anyone still have this problem? If yes, could you try reproducing it with "what is hang"? I didn't get any other reports yet, so I'm asking again before I start with the TC 11.57 beta test.

Unfortunately whatishang doesn't reveal any hanging address, it's just zero. Therefore there is unfortunately nothing I can do to help you, sorry.

Just to add some context, I suspect my earlier issue was something to do with other software or slow network connections causing apparent 'hangs'. It actually had nothing to do with TC itself and I have since cleared whatever the problem was and TC is now unaffected. I am still using Windows 7 which has a lot less bloat and other extraneous garbage software in it as compared against the likes of 10/11, so perhaps that too has a bearing on my experience as compared with the majority of others.
