[TC 11.57rc5a] Shift+F4: [F] and [L] change placeholder [C]

Post by *white »

(Issue also present in earlier beta versions)
  • Press Shift+F4
  • Enter:

    Code: Select all

    <[F]this is a test[C]
  • Click OK
An attempt is made to create the file "This Is A Test<c>"
Expected: For the [C] placeholder to work correctly.

A similar thing happens when using [L] instead of [F].

Confirmed - but it works when you do not let it convert the < > to underscores.

This should be fixed in Total Commander 11.57 RC6, please test it!
28.04.26 Fixed: New text file (Shift+F4): Error using a combination of parameters [F] and [C], e.g. <[F]test[C] (32/64)

Tested OK using TC 11.57rc6 32-bit and 64-bit, but the fix was also for the new folder dialog, and for when using [L] and [f] as well.

Yes, they use the same function. It's because the conditional counter is kept as <C>, which is converted to lowercase by [F], [L] and [f].
