Recent Files Shortcut

Post by *gnulab »

Hi,

It would be very useful to have a “Recent Files” shortcut.

Use case:
Apps like WhatsApp and WeChat handle received files in ways that make them hard to locate:
  • WhatsApp
*No “Save As” option when receiving files
* Files are automatically stored in:
`/storage/emulated/0/Android/media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp/Media/WhatsApp Documents/`
* Filenames can be unclear or appended (e.g., `_ed25519`), making manual search inconvenient
  • WeChat
* Files are often saved with random or non-descriptive filenames
* Even harder to identify or retrieve later

Problem:
Users frequently need to access files they just received, but locating them manually through nested folders or unclear filenames is inefficient.

Suggestion:
Add a “Recent Files” shortcut that:

* Shows files received/downloaded across apps
* Sorts by most recent activity
* Optionally groups by source app (e.g., WhatsApp, WeChat)
* Allows quick actions (open, share, move, rename)

This would significantly improve usability, especially for users dealing with frequent file exchanges across messaging apps.

Thank you.

You can add a Bookmark

Go to the desired folder and then press the three vertical dots in the lower left corner and select Bookmarks...
Press ADD BOOKMARK at the bottom of the screen, select a proper Bookmark name in the following panel
and finally press ADD NEW BOOKMARK and a shortcut to that folder will be added to the Bookmarks list
on the starting page of TC.
