A. I use it to navigate to a file/folder based on START_OF_NAME (most often a folder)
- I have configured Quick Search -> Quick Search (current dir) = Letter only
- I type a few characters of the beginning of the file/folder I want to navigate to (START_OF_NAME)
- I perform my actions on the found item eg F4 to edit it, ENTER to launch it etc.
B. I use it to search for a file/folder (most often a file)
- I hit CTRL+S to focus on the search field
- I type *
- I type a few characters from a part of the file/folder I want to navigate to (PART_OF_NAME)
When I am in A mode I get what I want if I configure Quick Search -> Exact name match = Beginning (...)
When I am in B mode I get what I want if I configure Quick Search -> Exact name match = both values unset
But I am not able to 'get the best of both worlds': I would like to be able to skip the ENTER * step in B mode.
This could be made possible if the setting was split and each use case cound be configured individually
(Well - unless I just don't know how this is already possible, then please guide me
