Is there a list available of all placeholders for TC, with an explanation?
Thanks

Re: Placeholders list
It depends on what you mean by the placeholders.
- If the placeholders are those like [N], [N#-#], [E], [C], [YMD], [hms], etc., in the Multi-rename tool dialog, and in some other places, you can find some info in the help:
Help - Operation - Multi-rename tool, and follow the "See Dialog Box - Multi-rename tool for details!" link there.
Online help: https://tcmd.madsenworld.dk/onlinehelp/index.html?dialog_box___multi_rename_tool.htm
Also, on the wiki: https://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php?title=Multi-rename_tool#Multi-rename_tool_placeholders - If those are thingies like %N, %P, %T, %S, %WL, etc., they are special parameters/variables (so also technically the placeholders), in many places:
The shortest way to help:
Help - Configuration and switches - Button bar configuration.
Online help: https://tcmd.madsenworld.dk/onlinehelp/index.html?dlg_configbuttonbar.htm
Wiki: https://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php?title=Button_bar - Those like %COMMANDER_PATH%, %COMMANDER_EXE%, %COMMANDER_INI%, %$DATE%, %$CLIPBOARD%, %$DESKTOP%, %$APPDATA%, are the environment variables and pseudo environment variables (credits to u/sqa_wizard for the reminder):
Help: hh.exe %COMMANDER_PATH%\TOTALCMD.CHM::env_vars.htm
Online help: https://tcmd.madsenworld.dk/onlinehelp/index2.html?env_vars.htm
Wiki: https://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php/Navigation#Pseudo_environment_variables - If they look like /O, /N, /L, /R, /P, /S, etc., they are the command line parameters (share a similar concept as the placeholders) for the main application (%commander_exe%):
Help - Configuration and switches - Command line parameters.
Online help: https://tcmd.madsenworld.dk/onlinehelp/index.html?commandlineparameters.htm
Wiki: https://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php/Command_line_parameters - If they look like A, H, L, M, G, D, etc., they are the command line parameters (same concept as above) for the installer:
Wiki: https://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php?title=Installer#Command_line_parameters

Re: Placeholders list
May I enhance the list with entries like %COMMANDER_DRIVE% or %$CLIPBOARD% see
TC-Help (Environment variables): hh.exe %COMMANDER_PATH%\TOTALCMD.CHM::env_vars.htm
TC-Help (Environment variables): hh.exe %COMMANDER_PATH%\TOTALCMD.CHM::env_vars.htm

https://tcmd.madsenworld.dk/onlinehelp/index2.html?reg_ex.htm also provides a useful list of reg_exp expressions.
Also I should mention that My Extended Menus has a several of these Help items for directly use: https://tcmd.madsenworld.dk/extrahelpmenu.png
