@Scorpio47:
still you have quoting probs? and buy the way were d'u see anger?
I just wanted to point out just because you are one not everyone else
is one :twisted:
Sure you buy all your Soft in the Shop - makes me wonder how you buy shareware in shops ? Conclusion: You dont - all you buy is MS Soft :-)
And its good possible that you paid for more software than me,
because as a student I get all MS Soft for free (except Office which I buyed in 2k) and 98% of the other software I use is freeware and the
2% I have buyed and gave my personal data for that.

If you take a look on MS page, you'll see that this exist -> NOT, I also got most MS and Adobe and some other programs from my studies but never FREE, I had most of the time to register my products in holland and mostly I saved around 50 %, Just take a look by MS and internet stores then you'll see the real prices, but never mind, I have better thinks to argue about, have you ever wondered that if I didn't wanted to pay for TC, why then post concerning about that question, hope it's an easy studie your learning :roll:

It does - you are just not looking at the right page, study the wrong thing,
Or perhaps your Uni doesnt participate in the MSDN AA Programm?

I'm requiring your name + address because you get free updates almost forever. If I just sold a single version to you, I could simply send you a CD and that's it. But your registration key allows you to use ALL future versions of TC too, so I have to protect it somehow - and that's done with the name+address. Even if such a key is leaked, it's useless for companies because everyone could see that the key doesn't belong to the company. I'm not talking about personal registrations here, where I rely mostly on enthusiasts who want to support my work...

..and there exists quite a bunch of those, I hope! (because I regard your License model as the fairest I've ever seen, especially for such an extremely powerful and well-designed software!). BTW I see some easy to realize possibilities to catch one or two more of these (becoming) enthusiasts, you'll find my humble suggestions in this thread.

just a curios question: are there many companies that registered TC, or do private users prevail?

Fortunately yes! That's one of the reasons why I can offer free updates!
