thanks for explaining during my absence :)

I hope its clear now. So to change an icon on the buttonbar, right click the button you want to replace, select 'change', choose an icon from 'vicons2_10_buttonbar.icl' and that's it, no INI-editing at all.

The ini-entry is only needed if you want to change the file panel icons, this is totally independent from the buttonbar icons.
(btw that's the reason I provided separated ICLs for filepanel and buttonbar and named them accordingly, thought this should be quite obvious)

 thx, that makes me a bit embarrassed :D

My next release (coming soon) will include a detailed readme, I think this should decrease the occuring of misunderstandings...
maybe I should write 'don't panic' in friendly and encouraging yellow letters in the headline, like in some useful guide I saw somewhere... ;)

Congratulations again for your work.

These could be included in TC as the standard set of icons by the developer. They have a professional and cool look, are extensive to many more functions than the original library packed with TC has and they do help visually a lot indeed.

+1

by the way.... Sticky what is the function (code) behind the last button (on the right of your screen capture) ?
I think it is to change the current button bar... just want to be sure i use it the right way
In my 'user1.bar' i have a button to call 'user2.bar' ( %COMMANDER_PATH%\User2.bar ) and vice & versa, is this correct ?

If i have 30 icons in the button bar and i reduce my window size, i will have 20 buttons on the first line and 10 on a new second line.
Is there (or will it be) a way so that we always have a single line of buttons and that we can 'turn' pages to see the next ones.... ?

Yepp, absolutely right. Thats the way I use it, too.

Hm, interesting idea. for now a workaround would be to put the icons on two bars in your desired maximum width, and toggle them as needed.

I'll contact Christian Ghisler soon and will ask him if he would like to use my icons (or if the mentioned competition will be started somedays)

You should take a look here, too:
http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=5091

This is a rather useful approach to deal with different button bars, maybe you can create some suitable icons for that, too? ;)
A set with icons numbered from 0 to 9 would be very sweet I think.

And of course @ghisler:
Please integrate StickyNomad's icon set in the official TC release to finally get rid of those old ugly icons completely! :)

Hm, I didn't see this one yet, thats indeed a nice solution. I'll try to design some nifty number icons for that, but that may take a while as I don't have much time at the moment, but stay tuned, they will come for sure.
And of course @ghisler:
Thanks for your support :D I contacted him already by email and suggested him the usage of my icons, let's see if I'm successful :)

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

Thanx, that looks nice too ! :o
(but takes more place only for the bars buttons)
Maybe an alternative would be a kind of small tabs (i.e. dreamweaver toolbars) or a behaviour like the ms-office launchbar...

You don't need to use all available switch buttons when you are using two bars only, just adjust the paths in the .bar files.
