some questions and suggestions mixed up :)

Is it possible to use ACDSee for thumbnail generation and/or quickview? ...at least to read the ACDsee thumbnail database for all supported media, as it is the best multimedia viewer I know.
Imagine plugin is really fast doing pic thumbs, but it doesn't work for folders like ACDSee. I'm using the "Use Explorer method" for folders, but instead creating/read the Thumbs.db or its internal cached thumbnails, TC generates again and again each time.

How to define Ctrl+X/C/V for Cut/Copy/Paste using the internal TC's copy instead of Explorer?

How can I disable the Drag&drop Move (Alt or Shift) confirmation?

Is it possible to use the "View (lister)" option as the default option for left click? maybe a "Ctrl+left click" or something customizable

Why don't use the Win key for hotkeys? it will be much easier to find unassigned ones...

Any way to put the Directory Hotlist and History buttons aligned to right?

My TC doesn't get the UNC folders ok on startup, it just shows c: although the \\xxx\ path are well saved in the ini file.

The Registry view doesn't show up in Branch or Tree views, is this a limitation?

Which are the best cache settings for copy/delete?

what about one-click navigation and hot-tracking effects?

and some mouse options (ctrl+click=?, etc...)

middle mouse button to select files (TC mode)

Is there any way to customize the row spacing besides increasing the icons?

A cool feature will be having custom icons (customized folder icons) in tabs.

Any chance of allowing a "centered" alignment for tabstops and main menu. I'm just an interface freak, I know... it is just a thing that I always wanted in windows and never find in any program. Reason is: You always look better at the center of the view than left or right, and crt monitors display better image quality at center too.

I have to say that I felt IN LOVE with TC since I tried it a week ago. I just can't help going further customizing every possible option, toolbars, installing plugins, ... this is a masterpiece software example, sadly unfollowed by the big software developers that always treat you as a stupid.

Best regards and keep up this good work!! already near perfection for me ;)

Nope. The last good ACDSee version was 2.41 IIRC. Meanwhile it's nothing but a resource monster.
Furthermore TC uses its internal cache mechanism, check the configuration please and enter a valid path for which you have direct write access.
How to define Ctrl+X/C/V for Cut/Copy/Paste using the internal TC's copy instead of Explorer?
Configuration-Misc
How can I disable the Drag&drop Move (Alt or Shift) confirmation?
What confirmation? I haven't seen a confirmation window till now.
Is it possible to use the "View (lister)" option as the default option for left click? maybe a "Ctrl+left click" or something customizable
You can't change mouse clicks, only hotkeys.
Why don't use the Win key for hotkeys? it will be much easier to find unassigned ones...
True.
Any way to put the Directory Hotlist and History buttons aligned to right?
Hardcoded, nope.
My TC doesn't get the UNC folders ok on startup, it just shows c: although the \\xxx\ path are well saved in the ini file.
?

You should ask the plugin author to implement it.
Which are the best cache settings for copy/delete?
Depends on your system.
what about one-click navigation and hot-tracking effects?
Oops, look at Lefteous answer.
and some mouse options (ctrl+click=?, etc...)
Not possible.
middle mouse button to select files (TC mode)
Use your mouse driver software for that.
Is there any way to customize the row spacing besides increasing the icons?
Use a spacer in the button bar. You mean the panels? Nope.
A cool feature will be having custom icons (customized folder icons) in tabs.
Not possible with Delphi 2.0 afaik.

You can edit the .mnu-files yourself and adjust the view to your liking.

In the end:
Please read the help file and search the forum a little bit before you ask so many questions and AT LEAST number them to make answering not a hard work.
My desires to give longer answers were about non existant after I saw the chaos, sorry. ;)

This is a limitation of Total Commander. Support for plugins in tree view is planned:

You may set SingleClickStart=1 in the [Configuration] section of your Wincmd.ini.

:) Hi Christian!
You may set SingleClickStart=1 in the [Configuration] section of your Wincmd.ini.
- Indeed… Personally, I don't recommend this mode, simply because the file under the cursor could be a pretty virus or so; I use to destroy such dungs when found out by drag&drop onto the window of a secure external eraser program (in which it's impossible to lauch the file).
- Just my opinion, though…

Actually I think icfu misunderstood. It is not possible.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

@Hacker:
Reconfiguring Ctrl+C for cm_CopyOtherPanel works here without any problems, Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V can be reconfigured, too.

icfu,
True, but then it doesn't work the "Explorer" way (one keypress here, one keypress there). ;)

I don't know what you mean.
I think he wanted to know how to get rid of the Explorer functions and use TC internal functions instead, no?

Edit:
Ah, you have edited, now I understand.
Well, TC has no internal copy&paste, so you are right I think. ;)

I think the last good was v3.1.1.94, the last release of the v3 series.
After that they went nuts. V7.x is faster and ~lighter~ than any of the v4/5/6-series but still no match for v3.1.

Nostalgic ACDSee users should give XnView a try, its well worth.

Yep, ACDSee 32 v2.42 for speed, XnView for everything else. :)
