XnView v1.80 and TC integration

Post by *pdavit »

Release candidate 1 for XnView v1.80 is here and can be downloaded here:
http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=1829

It includes:
"Changed : New method to send picture in Total Commander"

That should improve performance and integration with TC's thumbnail view.

Please, report your findings here if you can.

Thanks!

@pdavit:
Thanks for the news.

First test:
XnView beats all other extraction methods here, even Explorer method which was the fastest till now.

Impressive. :)

Edit:
Forget it, see below. No anti aliasing anymore.

Really nice, very fast. I wonder if the thumbnails are antialiased, i dont think so. The thumbnails generated by XnView are much uglier than IrfanView or Imagine thumbnails. Is there a way to adjust this setting?
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

Surprisingly XnView does not create a thumbnail for avi files, even though it generates one in the program itself, and i can view them in the xn browser.

You are right SanskritFritz, no anti aliasing although "Use high quality" in XnView options-Browser-Thumbnails is set.

This is really not impressive anymore especially because version 1.74 uses anti aliasing!
Is it just a trick? What's the sense of that? *sigh*

The game goes on, back to Explorer method...

You can set options/Browser/Thumbnail/USe high quality
and to have better unset thumbnails Options/Browser/Use embedded thumbnail

This doesn't explain why this setting has no influence in TC anymore. I have explained above that I have activated this setting.

BTW: The combination TC + XnView is now faster than TC's own internal cache.

Interestingly in RC2, the space key acts as slideshow start instead of advancing to the next picture. Pause key still works.
So i reverted back to RC1, and all is ok now again :-)

SanskritFritz,
Well, yes, there has been a discussion about this on the XnView forum. Go complain there. :)
