A wolf in sheep's clothing or (vice versa) a sheep in wolf's clothing? :D :P
@nevidimka:
Can you point to a thread where you and norfie were in opposite opinion? :mrgreen:

Ahhhh, this old post is meant. Yeah, now I don't know what do you want to say with your remark? I suppose you want to point out to us that this icfu is not able to learn from its mistake. Right? ;)

About bug reports: The forum is meant for discussing TC-related topics among users, and between users and myself. If you just want to report a bug, you should better do this by e-mail. Usually I don't comment bug reports here in the forum, I just save them into my "bugs" folder for verification and possible fixing. I reply if anything is unclear, e.g. if I have to ask the author of the report for details.

Answering to emails and ignoring forum postings you have even saved for later reference sounds rather weird. Users deserve an answer, no matter if they are reporting a bug in the forum or by email.

When writing down a bug in the forum all other users are warned about the bug and can protect themselves if necessary, this is not possible when writing emails. Don't forget that the time between the report and the fix is usually extremely long because TC releases are very rare.
Even if the bug is not severe it doesn't have to be reported again to you if it is already known. Much time can be saved if you would take a second to reply at least with a simple "Noticed, thanks." or "Confirmed, will be fixed asap.", this means at least all threads starting with [BUG]!

95% of all threads in this forum are threads in which people need to have a problem solved and this is the main aspect, not "discussions". A bug is a problem, too. Furthermore it is a problem that only the developer can solve so if you ignore it, you are not very helpful as a community member and the users get the impression that you are not interested. Even if the opposite would be true, the users can't know as long as you are sending no signals to outer space.

You get what you give.

It would be nice to have an answer from the author but IMHO it is not necessary. Everybody can read/test (un-)fixed bugs in a new version. Be patient.

To keep in the thread spirit (off-topic, that is) I'd like to make the suggestion that the 'Polls' forum is changed to a 'General Chat, Off-Topic and Polls' forum. Not that the off-topics threads in this forum has become too much yet, but there are quite a few of them and ... well it seems people need a place to vent sometimes, and IMHO that's just the best approach.

For that matter, I don't even see this one as really off-topic, more like that a little bug-tracker is needed. I gotta admit that I'm a bit on Mr. Ghislers side in this - I have a forum with 1/6 the users and 1/3 the posts, and I have a hard time keeping up. It can be difficult to respond to everything, despite good support by users - there can be 100's of posts every day. Some very simple and not too publicly available bugtracker might be the solution?
