Problem connecting to the wiki

Post by *clauderenaud »

Hi,

I tried to connect from the wiki home page providing my registered username and password as intended but each time I receive the following message "there is no renaud_claude...", why ?
Could someone help me identify the source of the problem ?
Regards,

Hi,

I guess the problem is the underscore character in your username. The wiki software doesn't accept names containing such characters. As a workaround you could register a similar username and try again.

The Problem IS the _ in your name.
To login to the Wiki you have to register here once again with a name without a underscore in the name cause to get login-data for the wiki you have to register here.

Rather than creating a second account, could it be possible to rename my current username with anything else ?

Hello renaud_claude,
a second account is not a good idea because the prevention of vandalism in the forum and the Wiki.

The easiest way would be:
1. Delete your old nickname with underscores
2. Lock out
3. Create your new account without a underscore
4. Now you can log in into the wiki

You may ask Christian Ghisler for help to delete your account, most of us don't have experience with that.

I can imagine how hard it could be, when I try to use Total Commander with "closed" eyes.
I hope the Wiki and RSS reader are helpfull to you.
Please use this thread for further questions.

Kind regards

Please let me know here if you want your forum name changed. Unfortunately I couldn't find a way to allow underscores in Wiki names - the Wiki sources use a function to remove underscores and other characters from names and URLs. I don't know why they don't allow underscores, they seem to be allowed in URLs...

Hi Christian,

I would like to ask the same if possible. A rename. My username is still botak but I use rolandd everywhere (personal circumstances caused it to be changed). Could you rename my username from botak to rolandd? (I can stop confusing people :P)

Thanks

Thanks a lot.
So, could you delete the account I created in order to access the wiki : the corresponding username for it is totalcmdwiki.
