Can you little improve MRT in T.com? Christian, look here!

Post by *St. Wolf »

I have a camera, so there are tons of pics IMG_XXXX.JPG.
With "Custom columns mode" I can see descriptions from descript.ion file. Fine, but for friends I rename there copies with "STW - [N] - [=tc.comment]".
Multi-Rename Tool doesn't help me some times when description has special symbols. File IMG_0001.JPG with description "Girl. Where is the focus?" I can't rename in MRT. In the help topic "Dialog box - Multi-rename tool": "Search & Replace function is applied AFTER the rename mask!". So, I must rename single files one by one with hands.

- Maybe little checkbox "Replace special symbols" with drop-down list: "Clear", ".", "'", "User Defined String" (To allow replacing "?" with "(q)" or "(Question)").

P.S. Exif.WDX plugin doesn't show all information. Why?
I have Canon PowerShot A520.

I added this comment to a file and took your rename pattern and got:

STW - îmage_0001 - Girl. Where is the focus_.jpg

What's wrong now?

Have you problems to rename that file?

Does the Comment contain quotation marks? Or is it possible that there already exists a file with the same name (taht usually causes TC to this error message)?

[edit]

Even with questionmarks I get
STW - îmage_0001 - 'Girl. Where is the focus_' .jpg
[/edit]

Of course I cannot try the russian version because of my german OS.

No, only text. (Ctrl+Z on file, "Use OEM (DOS) font" option doesn't checked, F2).

I try "Blah-blah?" description (without quotations) on any file - same result.
Of course I cannot try the russian version because of my german OS.
I never use any Russian programs (or Operation Systems) or language files - too many bugs after any "Russifications", more over I live in Belarus.

I've got the same error. There is not automatic replace in my TC either.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

 Sorry, it's been my fault.

It seems to be a known bug that will probably fixed in the next release.

Thanx!

T.com is the best!

P.S. One question to you. Some time ago I had a lot of messages being sent and received to and from support@ghisler.com. Now I ask my questions in this forum. Are you a helper of Christian, or have grate influence in development of T.com?
Shorter: Can I be shure that this "known bug will probably fixed in the next release"?

Nothing personal, just work on TV, so checking information :)
