We talked already about icons in menus. This is similar request for similar reasons. I am posting this because I found my self too many times thinking what to click in my own favorites. Icons can make make this not happen.
When I think more about this, I realise that it could be done really nice. For instance, TC can grab icon from desktop.ini's Icon setting and display it in favorites and history. That way it will be compatibile with Windows and it can be used in good manner in TC without need for createing custom interface fot this inside TC. Some people here can argue this because of HD garbage but this is only one sugesstion. Other is to keep icons at some place....
If Ghisler swithed to Delphi 7 this is several lines of code to add. I also doubt this is too much work in any other version. This is not the same as request for menu icons which is more complicated. Here, only popup should be supplied with icons, which can't be much work, especialy if icons are grabed from desktop.ini.

Icons in the directory menu would be nice indeed. Applying the icon from desktop.ini is a good idea but it should be possible to choose other locations as well. If such a choice is not available all directories without a desktop.ini would be display a simple directory icon which has absolutely no information content.
Don't forget that you use any command in the directory menu not just changing to other directories.

I think it's clear that such a feature would be optionally.

Well I'm not so sure. If Delphi 7 provides a significant advantage over Delphi 2 for TC developement he should and will change - otherwise not. I'm sure he'll make the right decision.dont think (and hope) that Chris will switch to D7

No... in this case no icon should be displayed. If I want icon in TC favs I create desktop.ini for that folder, if not, I leave it alone. Of course, other icon locations are cool especialy for commands. If such a choice is not available all directories without a desktop.ini would be display a simple directory icon which has absolutely no information content.
