[Forum bug] Search does not work correctly

Post by *Flint »

Here is my old post which I tried to find:
http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?p=58051
I tried to search by the CopyHugeBlockSizeOther keyword, but search gives no results, though this word is definitely exists in my post given above!

Added:
Moreover, it does not find even this post itself. :) I thought that it's because the word CopyHugeBlockSizeOther was written in bold, but I tried it without boldness (as in this edited post) - and again nothing is found.

Keyword lenght ?

Post by *Clo »

:) Hello !
- Confirmed, I searched with a "normal" font-weight an “*” as author…
- Of course, your post exists really from the link you give !
• Maybe there is a limitation at each keyword lenght ?

• Anyway, the Search in phpBB is far to be its best feature ! :P
- Moreover, there is not any clear info about the syntax to use to state the keywords…

 Kind regards,
Claude

true.... I noticed this on several occassions... yet some people always use "before you post try to search.... " phrase, despite the fact that search system is obviously very limited.

:D I just made a test-message that you can reach HERE

- Whether you search for the keyword AaBbCcDdEeFfGgHhIiJjKk… with * as author, you get *peanuts* :P
… although it is alright in the text !

:) Hello Christian !

- Is not the alphabet in all dictionaries ? :P

- Seriously: It's especially to test the maximum keyword-lenght accepted, with also a totally mixed case.
- Obviously, this is the point, since -like with the Flint's keyword (23 chars.)- this one (22 chars.) is not supported !

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
