[REQ] Enhance saved tabs with...

Post by *icfu »

1. variable support
2. the ability to save the CORRECT column!

The problem is that TC doesn't save the HEADER of the column which I want to sort but it saves its POSITION, for example "sort column number 4 upwards" instead of "sort column with header Size, Codec, etc...".

This means that whenever a column is added or removed BEFORE, the WRONG column is sorted.

I can confirm this bug. :!:
For me it would be ok if the correct position would be saved. TC doesn't seem to reindex the sort column if columns are inserted or deleted..

Can you reproduce the bug?
Do you need a video?

Sorry, sorting as always saved the column, it would make TC incompatible with older versions if I changed that now...

As I wrote above the wrong column index is saved!
I just want to see this bug on the bugs to fix list. You have to decide when to fix it.

BTW: Storing the column name would be a bad idea. Column names are not unqiue.

Sorry, I don't understand the problem. As I understand it, you
- save custom columns
- later add columns
- restore the saved columns?
- and then?

Just do the following:

1. Create a custom column view with name, ext, size, date and attributes (in this order!).
2. Display this custom column view.
3. Sort by date.
3. Configure the current custom column view: remove the size column.
4. Now the view is sorted by attribute column!

Expected: The view should be sorted by date.

Ah, now I understand. Currently TC doesn't check when changing a view whether a sorted column still exists after changing the view, or not. I will check whether this would be possible (TC v7).
