Good afternoon, karlchen!
I read the thread title [REQ] Drag&Drop copies by default
Yeah, that was too late to post a message, that I couldn't think out more appropriate title
About newbies: I didn't mean they are too stupid

. If one works in explorer, he might be clever, might not know about TC. BTW, see
this post, and don't care for newbies your way anymore.
So if you detect, you did it
I never wanted to do it, so I shall never detect that. I always move and never copy using D&D.
Moreover, I absolutely fail to see what might be the benefit of creating an ambiguity where so far there is none in TC.
(So far, I can be absolutely sure what TC will do if I drag'n'drop, but after implementing your enhancement, I can no longer be sure.
No ambiguity there! You are configuring your wincmd.ini, so you know what D&D will do. Though, I think this option should not be accessible via options dialog - for a *little* care. The only situation where you cannot be sure is when you are using some TC pack, because its author can change default setting as he like. But TC pack author can also write some harmful code to his installation file

, so you cannot be sure for anything in this situation.
And actually, if anybody simply agreed, this would be boring, would it not?

Are you sure your concern is for the benefit of newbies or is it for XPEHOPE3KA?
I guess most TC newbies follow forum rules and lurk here to know the forum before posting. Also this feature was discussed among friends (and was several times asked at russian forum) - but they all do not know english so well to write here even "I support this feature request", not speaking about WHY are they supporting - veeery hard

. Or they may have no time, or they simply don't want to register here to post ONE message, just because they can always get help at russian forums in russian language.
And yes, that will be very helpful for me as I shall keep my shift finger from paralyzing. And see this
if one doesn't like doubling information on a partition, he will never need to copy files from a folder to its subfolder.

You will need some time to adopt new habits
I don't want to change my habits.
Why don't you switch mouse buttons ?
Maybe because I use some other programs, not only TC? Why to change something needed for TC only while it could be archieved via adding one option?

Remember, newbies are not too stupid, and if one is and deleted some system file accidently, he would remember that disaster he brought to his own place with his own hands and will never do it again. To use an option or not to use it is a choice of each and every user. One can easily understand what is appropriate for him and what isn't.
Finally, let's see what Mr. Ghisler says.
F6, Enter, Tab, F6, Enter, Tab, F6, Enter, Tab... - I like to move IT, move IT!..
