OK this is coming from another source, so dont take it for an exact description ....
So I managed to convince my friend to start using TC. Great. I think he likes it. However, he has also started using Google Desktop lately, and he reports that GD behaves oddly with TC: if he moves a dir within TC, it doesnt get updated correctly in GD. Not searchable, i presume. However if he performs the same move in Win Explorer, everything appears normal with GD, and it re-indexes correctly.
Anyone recognize this problem?
Oh, and appearently it only applies to dirs. If he moves files, they get updated in GD irrespective of whether he used TC or WE to move them.
Problems using TC with Google Desktop?

I have seen the same when changing the starmenu in TC under win98 (%windir%\startmenu). Moving entrys and folders did not take effect until you opened the changed folder in Explorer while moving the same folder in explorer changed the startmenu immedately.

I guess that Google Desktop somehow hooks itself into Explorer, so it will not see changes made by other programs.
