option for replacing the quick-view plugin

Oh =) I guess I'd better explain this idea a bit, then.
When I first started using Windows Commander (as it was called then) it was in part from years of using Norton Commander, but mostly because it had one thing which beat everyone else: Lightning-fast Quick View for audio files.
I'm a sound designer, and when I'm searching for samples I can't possibly drag all 50,000 samples into Winamp to preview them - I have to go much faster than that. So, Total Commander works great for me.
Now, I'm curious about writing my own plugin for this purpose. I may want to show the waveform while playing, have support for looping files, 24-bit WAV files etc.
What's the likelihood of extending the plug-in system to the Quick View?

To achieve this using a custom column view would be the better idea as you don't even have to play the file. You just need a content plug-in which provides the required information.I may want to show the waveform while playing, have support for looping files, 24-bit WAV files etc.
Lister plug-ins work fine in quick view. What's the likelihood of extending the plug-in system to the Quick View?
