But the worst thing here is - it doesn't sound funny for Russians... %)
Well, it wasn't meant to do that, and I'm sure the Japanese aren't hugely impressed either. It's a completely playful nonsensical construct which doesn't obey the grammatical rules of any language AFAIK and is therefore totally meaningless. Just the overall aesthetic of the letter combination attracted me and to my eye it appears rather more Aztec-like than Cyrillic. Whatever, I liked its 'look' and could not care less for its meaning.
It can be quite fascinating just tossing unrelated words into the the air to see what patterns develop when they crash-land. IIRC, a famous musician (was it David Bowie or Lennon?) used to endlessly cut out words from the newspapers to paste them together in no sensible order and with scant regard for syntax, grammar, or meaning. He claimed that he derived inspiration from looking at the resulting unorthodox word combinations and pseudo sentences. Might be why we got curious lyrics like:
Code: Select all
Ziggy really sang, screwed up eyes and screwed down hairdo
Like some cat from Japan, he could lick 'em by smiling
He could leave 'em to hang
Came on so loaded man, well hung and snow white tan.
and
Code: Select all
He bag production he got walrus gumboot
He got Ono sideboard he one spinal cracker
He got feet down below his knee
Hold you in his armchair you can feel his disease
Come together right now over me
Now there's disturbingly weird colour, strangeness and charm!
