OK, maybe they haven't gotten thru, I may have used an unreliable service at the time. I've received answer to all prior mails (I think several years ago), no problem there. The issues were at the time also discussed here in the forums, althou no real solutions were ever found. I patched it up with an older version kindly provided me several times (Outlook is my other curse) by another member.
Please send me this info by e-mail! I've been looking for such an unstable disconnecting server for years, but none of the servers I tried ever had such a problem. :(
You got it on the support address. :? I don't know why there is such a difference betwen uploading and downloading, I never have problems downloading at all. Humm, I'm not much for calling my server unstable or disconnecting, even thou a file or two also may fail with FileZilla - but there I just click it in the filelist and have it try again, problem solved. It loses its fun when you have to re-sync 143 folders in TC to find where it left off - I really hope we will see ability to toggle sync settings for entire (sub-)folders in Sync. And native SFTP... ;) (Somebody stop me!)

I will try to reproduce the disconnects with your server as soon as possible. I really have no explanation why TC should disconnect and other clients don't. Maybe they just silently reconnect...

Did any of my mails go thru? I still haven't gotten any kinds of confirmations.

Hi,
Yes, I got your mail, but as you sent it to Christian, too, I am awaiting his reaction aswell.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

"Fixed: Revert to c:\totalcmd as default install directory (can of course be changed manually)"

Why doesn´t Total Commander install in the Program Files folder by default? Every decent Windows application should install in that folder by default and not in the root of C:\ !

I'm sorry, I decided to postpone changes to the FTP client to TC7. Why? Such changes can have a lot of side effects and break the function for many other users.

I have decided to postpone this change also to TC7 to avoid any problems. The change is just too big for a 0.01 update step.

Well, maybe. But only if you install programs into Program Files. Very few programs ever go by default where they should, so I would imagine you're quite used to this problem by now. And its update path is always correct, which I would say is pretty decent. ;-)

And besdides, many TC users see TC as part of the operating system, not as a program file.

Just to clarify though, my TC goes here: E:\Program Files\wincmd ;-)

App. dir in root !

:) Hello !

• I never use the <Program Files> folder to install any app. !
- The shortest the path is, the best is for all !
- For me, that “imposed” directory is a nest of craps…
- The name is not even translated in my French Win, and a space in it is a pain in the neck while (mysteriously) the quotes of "%1" disappear regularly for the associations…
- So, a cascade of error-messages…
- Here, I've four TC versions installed in my usual PC, all are in their own dirs in the roots of the drives.

 Kind regards,
Claude
