Has anyone experienced the following:
The past few weeks TotalCommander 5.51 has started to crash sometimes (and seemingly randomly), for no particular (apparent) reason.
An error window is displayed which reads:
The instruction at "[hex_mem_address]" referenced memory at "[hex_mem_address]". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program.
Click on CANCEL to debug the program.
As far as I can tell, the hex addresses are random. When I click OK, the application is terminated. I can restart it and everything seems to work fine again. I have no idea what causes it. I don't even know if TotalCommander has anything to do with it. SpamPal and Internet Explorer sometimes crash with the same error message, but I can't figure out for the life of me what could possibly cause this.
I first thought my RAM was faulty, but I did an overnight extensive memory test and no errors were reported. Any suggestions anyone? It's driving me crazy.
(I'm running Windows XP.)
Thx
Ron

Most often this is caused by context menu (right click menu) extensions. Did you install any tool recently which shows up in the right click menu or Alt+Enter properties?

Right-click menu items
Anything in particular I should look for?
Perhaps applications that add context menu functionality and that have been removed since? Any specific applications that you know of?
Thx
