Do you know a way to use wildcards when filtering using extensions? I can use ext:png;jpg but not ext:png;jp*g

Unfortunately the ext: function doesn't accept wildcards.
Normal searches do, so the following works:
*.png | *.jp*g
Windows 11 Home, Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.4061)
TC 11.55 RC2 x64 / x86
Everything 1.5.0.1391a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.5.2.0, Listary Pro 6.3.2.88
QAP 11.6.4.4 x64

Try something like
sizedupe: ext:jpg

You need a 1.4.x beta version and also
Options | Indexes -> Index file size
and
Options | Indexes -> Fast size sort

Here some forum search link:

In beta 5, you can now pass search parameters directly to everything by starting the search string with "ev:":
Example:
ev:<d:|e:|f:> *.mp3

This is experimental! TC will uncheck "Regex" and "Search archives" when you use this and start the search. Other parameters like "By content", "Size" and "Plugins" will still be applied to the found files!

Ok, finally I found some time to experiment with this Everything search, but… it didn't work for me at all.

I have Everything 1.3.4.686 x64 running as service. When I try to search with Everything, TC just finds nothing at all. No matter what or where I search, what mask I specify, I always get "No files found".

I tried starting with empty INI, in 32- and 64-bit TC version, searching with all the default parameters for empty mask, for "*", or for "*.exe" in root of C: disk or in one of the subdirectories. Each and every time I've got "No files found". Of course, as soon as I uncheck the "Everything" option searching works fine.

Its not enogh to have Everything service running.
Everything itself must also running in background or you have to tell TC where to find the Everything.exe.
From the help:
Everything=Everything.exe -startup
Set location of Everything.exe to run when user checks "Everything" checkbox while Everything isn't running yet. Without this option, Everything.exe will be searched in the Total Commander folder.

Yes, sorry, forgot to mention it, but my Everything is running normally as well via Windows autostart. That is, I do have two processes Everything.exe (one service and one interactive).

It's impossible to lead us astray for we don't care even to choose the way.

also, "search in" has no effect it seems. and if one chooses two or more drives, the search results get multiplied.

if i use
ev:<v:|c:> *.mp3
and "search in" contains
v:\;w:\
every search result shows up twice.

i know, it's experimental. but i start to love it already, and hopefully there will be a checkbox later for this instead of typing "ev:" every time. and maybe some ini setting so this will be checked by default.

thanks for working on this!

Sure, I've been using Everything as it is constantly for several years. It definitely works by itself and always finds all the files I request if I use its own UI. But not via TC.

Do you have Everything32.dll/Everything64.dll in Total Commander directory?

Of course "Search in" has no effect as you are using a raw Everything search string as we requested from Christian. There is no need for Search in in this case.
To always start with ev: in the Search for field you can store a search with this set and make a button with the LOADSEARCH command.

i know that, it was just additional information. right now, it is a bit confusing for people that do not know.

but the multiplied results definitely should not be.
