Oh I just discovered that it depends on the sort order. You have to sort the files and folders by one of these custom columns.

Yes I could reproduce it this way. I guess there is nothing what can be done to avoid this.

Maybe I missed something but here the 'size by request' feature does not work.

I have created a new custom column with

Code: Select all

[=dirsizecalc.Größe (Bei Bedarf).bkM]
but when I press space while the cursor is on a Folder ther happens nothing (except it gets selected).

What I'm doing wrong?

Hi,

That should work of course. Some reasons for problems could be:

1) The directory is very large and you haven't waited long enough.
2) You have performed a directory calculation in a virtual folder which isn't supported by Total Commander.

Otherwise try recording a little video. This has proven beneficial in the past.

Here is the video:

BTW: I can open it only with Demostudio player.

Well ok. Which version of DirSizeCalc do you use? Please post your Wincmd.ini (at least the custom column section).

BTW: Videos can be compressed :!:

I received your ini and found no problems. As you probably know this field work fine for many other users. Did it work for you in the past? What didi you change? What is your TC version?

I never used this feature before and use currently TC 6.55.

I'll do some further tests. At least I know by now that it should work the way I did expect.

[edit]

With a fresh ini it works fine, so I'll do further investigations.

I don't think I ever uploaded my Danish translation of DirSizeCalc - so here it is:

Code: Select all

Thank you for this great plugin.
norfie wrote:... add a new column with compression ratio of NTFS compressed files/directories...
I too am looking forward to this, I hope you haven't forgotten about it. :wink:
Compression ratio= compressed file size/uncompressed file size * 100 %
Judging from WinRar's point of view this is calculated by:
Ratio=compressed file size/uncompressed file size
and I support that.
What should happen if a directory is empty (or just empty files)? From my point of view 100 should be returned to indicate no space is saved although I know it's mathematically not correct.
IMO either that or showing something like N/A.

I have already added this field. I will continue working on a new version as soon as Ghisler has added commands for better "on demand" field handling.

Please take a look at the following screenshot:
http://img382.imageshack.us/img382/3504/dirsizeunicodeerror2gg0.png

For the first directory in the list the 'Compressed size' is obviously wrong. This seems to happen because inside the directory resides a file with an unicode name.
Is this a known issue?

No this is unknown. Do you have any idea how I could reproduce it?

For start you may try to create a file with the following filename: '12.¿Que Dices_.Black Eyed Peas.m4a' (I hope the forum sofware will not screw the characters)
