so it will be like .exe, this DLL. Just another file. And the license, not free. the note about dll is like about .exe, usr has to install it in any way.

I did not think about distributing UV with this DLL but rather about giving the possibility to see its info. Same way for WLX plugins: it is not obligatory to use them but if you decide to do so, you have everything nicely integrated.

Handling additional library (if it exists) could be better than using standalone tool via buttons IMHO.

Well, it is just an idea, after all :)

Nav updated, beta lnk.
Hotkeys in menu still doesn't show up until I press Alt-key.

But I have set my Windows up to ALWAYS show hotkeys*, and therefore expect programs to respect that.

Same Win setting

Post by *Clo »

:) Hi Peter !
Citation:
And the binary dump is shown as expected with a 2-click on the message area.
I can do it with a 1-click
• You are right, I'm in the habit to 2-click…
…Hotkeys in menu still doesn't show up until I press Alt-key.

But I have set my Windows up to ALWAYS show hotkeys*, and therefore expect programs to respect that. …
• Same situation here ! But still, I have the same setting in Win to remove that very stupid Win “feature”, and I agree :
That choice must be considered by the programmes !
• And I confirm again : that occurs here for all menus at start-up time.

Peculiar, that I have hotkeys underlined in the main program!

As shown---

:) Again…

• On THIS IMAGE, you can see that the hotkeys are missing for all main-menu items - I show just a part of the Fichier (File) menu…
- Even the captions of each pop-up have not any underlined letter !
- If I press i.e. ALT+F, then this “Fichier” menu opens, and the hotkeys are there.
- So, one must remember (or guess) which letter is the hot one for each menu… :|
- But if I reopen it with the mouse, they have gone again!
- Same at Paul's…
 Worse : I investigated by testing that in an old version :
3.4.0 - 2008, April 16 : There is the same hitch !
¤ XP-Pro SP1 (Fr) here (and SP3 at Paul's) with roughly the same hardware.

ok, it must be related to Icons in menu. Nav has them. So it is delphi bug, i think.

:) Hello Alexei !
ok, it must be related to Icons in menu. Nav has them. So it is delphi bug, i think.
• Disabling the icons in the menus from the Options makes that the hotkeys work normally, but in the main menu only !
- In Nav, there is nothing still till I press the Alt+hot_letter_to_guess keys…
• Aside :: I have several apps written in Delphi 4-5-7… and never saw that issue, even for those (the most) having icons in the menus…
- In TC, displaying icons in the menus doesn't cause such a trouble…
- Maybe these programmes check for the status of the (stupid) Win option above-mentioned by Petermad
and set the hotkeys display accordingly?

yes, because nav is separate .exe.

Here is something from the betaboard back in dec. 2006, when we had a similar problem in TC:
ghisler(Author) wrote: ...I was talking about the situation when the option "Hide underlined letters for keyboard navigation" is checked - in this case, beta 2.6 behaves exactly like older betas. However, when it is unchecked, it still hides the underlines. This seems to be a bug in Windows - I'm still getting th style "ODS_NOACCEL" passed in WM_DRAWITEM. It seems to be necessary to check for SPI_GETKEYBOARDCUES each time to make sure whether the underlines have been permanently enabled or not.
Maybe that can help you.

:) Hello Peter !

>> :D << It seems it's that the same issue, I didn't remember that thread of yours (I need more fish @ lunch…),
except that in this ß of TC7, only the hotkeys of the menus items were not shown, the pop-ups captions were OK…
- Thank you to bring that info from which Alexeï will probably solve the issue.
- BTW: In the outlines, it's that I assumed above, let's say that a checking is needed…

TC has own-draw menu, that info is useful. UV has not own-draw, but std VCL menu...
