I found that SumatraPDF plugin x64 can show *.chm files, but the main window of help file is cropped, while SumatraPDFx64 shows it correctly.
Confirmed.
The plugin also crashes on some actions.

Do you mean TC SumatraPDF Plugin 1.7 http://totalcmd.net/plugring/wlx_TCSumatraPDF.html ?
The description says that the plugin supports chm. Describe the problem in more detail, I don’t understand what you are writing about.
here is the image of dark help for TC for a better view of the frame size: https://ibb.co/GQDvHJd
As you can see, index/bookmarks are shown OK, but the main page is just in a small frame in the upper left corner of the lister window.
I'm usingx64 version of TCSumatraPDF plugin version 1.7 and SumatraPDFx64.exe version 3.6.15963. SumatraPDFx64 in itself shows the CHM file correctly.
Yes, there is a problem in pre-release builds 3.6. If the problem remains in the final 3.6, we will look into it. There is no problem in the final version 3.5.2. Use it for now, or you can install
ChmUI [
UseFixedPageUI = true
]
Of course, in this case formatting is lost

Thanks for the info.
For CHM viewing, I'm satisfied with the htmlview plugin.
Viewing without formatting makes no sense.

SumatraPDF v3.5.2 64-bit works perfectly for me with this setting in file "SumatraPDF-settings.txt" (parameter: false)
That's not the problem.
Here we are talking about the version 3.6.x
I already realise that.
I mainly wanted to point out the different setting (in my case) in the "SumatraPDF-settings.txt" file.

What I don't understand as much is that bugs are repeatedly reported on pre-releases of SumatraPDF
where it is explicitly stated on the website that these are for testing purposes and may contain errors.
As far as I can tell from previous forum posts, a programme author does not change his programme on the basis of a pre-release.
