Hej Sans, I shrinked the image so now its only 5, 85 KB so you have room for 0.15KB free to experiment :). The pic is on the same place... don't forget to reload if you cache images.

My TC said it was 6K. I check in Explorer today and it said 6.02KB. Sorry for this.

I am glad you like it... it was one-of-a-kind inspiration :)

Hej, woa what a competition
So I changed my avatar now :-)
Dont forget to give the credits to Lesmo16, who introduced AHK the first time for me in that infamous Useful 3rd party tools to complement TC thread! He is well aware of that :-)
And you have to see that I am only one of those many script contributors, like Icfu, Sheepdog, Hacker, just to mention those who posted magnificent AHK scripts to the wiki!
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

Hej... you shine man, you shine ! Great !

I don't know why U didn't shrink that 0.02KB extra yourself. I use IrfanView\NuCov1.21.54.exe which is excelent to connect it to TC.

I know there are others to write scripts, but you are the one who think in AHK, since your every second solution is connected to AHK (which is great, of course).

I still didn't write any in AHK, but I did plenty of them in batch, Phantom and MS ScriptIt. Next time I need serious script it will be AHK and I hope you are there to help sometimes...

I use Serif PhotoPlus, which is not that good in handling png files. I think i will soon switch to the Gimp.

The best PNG exporter/shrinker is included in IrfanView: PNGOUT plugin.
Hm, but the avatar is JPG, not much to shrink there... ;)

You mean, not much to shrink there without quality loss....

PNG is a lossless format so you cannot lose any quality, just like GIF and BMP. The smallest size you can get with that pic when not changing colors, dimensions, etc... is ~20KB, so JPG is better than PNG here. GIF is better, though...

Why ? (if we omit transparency)

Why ?
Aren't we talking about size?
As mentioned above: the most important point is lossless compression. JPG should usually be the END of a picture editing process, not the beginning, because it is a lossy format.

It was the end of editing.

We are not talking here about some quality playboy pictures.... you must use jpeg in order to have less then 6K size. In this case it was very obvious choice becuase comic drawings are already poor by their nature.

That's why I have written above:

After all, just a misunderstanding. JPG is best here for THIS avatar.
