I thought it might be of interest for others to examine that particular BMP-file with their favorite image viewer: download (21.577 Byte)

ACDSee (v10.0.219) and FastStone Image Viewer (v3.3 beta 3) display this image correctly, XnView (v1.91.5) has some small flaws, while Imagine (v1.0 beta 6) produces a corrupted reproduction.

EDIT: reuploaded BMP including screencaptures of mentioned image viewers in a ZIP-archive

Could you perhaps pack that HivelyTracker_Logo16.bmp file as for example a zip file.

When I try to download it, it simply gets shown in the browser. Right clicking the picture in the browser saves it if I use IE, but in SeaMonkey I get a bmp file with html content in stead.

The picture that I get when using IE, shows up perfectly in all viewers/image programs here, but I suspect that IE "fixed" it before saving it.

Done (see my previous post).

Normaly it shouldn't happen as the image is stored in the browser cache. When you request to save the image to disk from within the browser it just gets copied from the cache and saved with the correct filename.

Well I also tried to download it with Firefox (same result as with Seamonkey - both are Gecko based browsers) Finally I tried with Opera, and with that browser, I got the same file as in your compressed HivelyTracker_Logo16_including_Screen-Captures.zip

I can confirm that Imagine (1.0.0.0 b6) really distorts the image.

There are some small flaws when viewed in XnView (1.91.5).

It looks OK in IrfanView (4.0) and in Windows' Picture- and Fax Viewer.

It looks OK in my VERY old Paint Shop Pro (3.12) image editor.

It also looks OK with Lister plugins SGViewer (1.9.2.0 beta) and ImgView (1.0),.

It looks OK with Universal Viewer (2.5.0.0) using Image/Multimedia mode (4), and with Listers (TC's) internal viewer..

It looks OK in all my browsers (SeaMonkey 1.1.4, FireFox 2.0.0.7, Internet Eplorer 6.0, Opera 9.23)

It looks OK in Windows Media Player 9.0 - but Windows Media Player 6.4 CAN NOT show the image.

It looks OK in QuickTime Player Player 7.2 and QuickTime Picture Viewer 7.2.

All known issues regarding BMP-images still persist with Imagine v1.0.0.0 beta 7.

I can confirm that neither converting to BMP using the packer plugin method ( http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?p=135680#135680 ) nor reading the sample bmp at: http://rapidshare.com/files/61175402/HivelyTracker_Logo16_including_Screen-Captures.zip.html is fixed.

Neither is the bug concerning changing color depth to 16bit 64k colors ( http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?p=135649#135649 )

Imagine - Change default *.ini-settings?

Post by *powerandy »

@ all,

can the default "Imagine"-settings for the used main directory and the desired file format be changed in the *.ini settings?

If so, please advise, as far as I am using this awesome plugin very often for screenshots (necessarily as *.jpg) in a particular directory.

Thx in advance for your help.

@ all

how embarrassing!

I thought to reply in the "Imagine"-thread!

Of course, I meanwhile edited and updated my first post.

@ mods
Please would you kindly move this posts into the "Imagine" thread.

Thx in advance.

All the best.

This may help BMP errors.
Now there're no bugs with 'scratch' BMP files and packer plugin.

Sorry for inconvenience. :(
