Well, this doesn't work for me. I've accessed few folders with beta 1 and when beta 2 came out, I've set this timeout to 60 (1 minute) and I still can access those folders and days have passed.

Beta 2 behaves differently in this respect. Beta 1 gave you permanent read access, just like the Vista Explorer does in such a case. So if you accessed a folder using this function in Beta 1, you still have read access with any other program (like Beta 2).
This has been changed in Beta 2 for security reasons.

So how do I reset those permissions that were granted while beta 1 was running?

You can use the Alt+Enter properties dialog, or if it's missing the necessary options, the CACLS program. Just run CACLS without parameters to get a list of parameters.

Thanks. I didn't know that permissions were added under security options of a folder. I thought there was an internal username/password cache or something.

No, the permissions of the folder itself was changed - just like in Microsoft's Explorer for Vista. I also found this quite a radical "solution", so I agreed to change this behaviour. Since beta 2, no permissions will be changed at all.
