Well, as I don't use the trees that excessively, I don't have a really strong opinion here, but I have to agree with Lefteous:
To scroll the tree to see a maximum amount of subfolders is totally fine and shouldn't be changed. But the auto-positioning of the mousepointer is -at least for me- more confusing than comfortable.
If I would use the trees regularly, the auto-positioning would definitely disturb me quite a lot. On the other hand some people may like it, so it shouldn't be removed totally. To keep it optional would be a good solution here IMO.
