Actually VistaDelete=1 handles descript.ion correctly for files and subfolders in the folder where you use the delete function. However, subfolders are moved as a whole to recycle bin, including any contained descript.ion files.

Explorer Delete in the TC options mentions that it cannot handle comments - what is the relation of VistaDelete to Explorer Delete in the GUI? (ie are they the same thing)ghisler(Author) wrote:Actually VistaDelete=1 handles descript.ion correctly for files and subfolders in the folder where you use the delete function. *Edit: Now I remember why I didn't have VistaDelete enabled in the first place. When you delete a folder with it enabled, you cannot restore a file from the recycle bin. You can restore the entire folder, but not a single file. Ugh, no thanks. Back to disabled we go.
Few posts above i did what i read it how to improve speed for copy/delete. Now i would like know is there any way to remove this window:

[_] Display delete confirmation dialog
Afaik there is no way to prevent this dialog for TC only while "VistaDelete=1" is turned on.

That double window (explorer window on top of TC delete dialog) is very visually annoying. That was something else I wasn't going to be able to handle, it just annoyed me too much.
Anyway, I changed anti-virus the other night, and still 100% CPU and slow deleting when deleting a folder of small files.

For what it is worth, the problem is sorted for me. I had to make some sacrifices though.
1. Remove all descript.ion files, so you can disable the descript.ion option in TC's options (I now manually create text files with file comments now, named {filename of file I am commenting on}.ion.txt)
2. Disable 'use Explorer delete method' in TC's options (it conflicts with VistaDelete=1 according to Christian)
3. Set VistaDelete=1 (I've had to get used to that ugly looking double pop-up dialog when you delete something - actually, when I hit the delete key, I don't look at the screen, that way I don't see the annoying pop-up's)
Anyway, problem solved - as long as you don't want to use TC's deletion method and are prepared to use the Windows method instead (there are some downsides, for example, with the Windows method, you cannot recover individual files from the Recycle Bin, you can only recover the whole deleted folder). Oh well, it still beats 100% CPU and hour long deletion sessions for a handful of small files.

You can always open Recycle Bin from TC (\$RECYCLE.BIN\<user-profile-id> folder for Vista/7) and enter deleted folder - its contents is kept unchanged (only name is changed to something like $REHZD9U), so you can recover any file manually.there are some downsides, for example, with the Windows method, you cannot recover individual files from the Recycle Bin, you can only recover the whole deleted folder
If I remember well (your picture link is broken):I always get 2 windows for deletion.
- One confirmation dialog: a system dialog which can be disabled globally (see the link above)
- and one TC progress dialog
As far as i know there is no way to disable one of these dialogs only inside TC.
