[8.00b2] Different drivelist layout (ALT+F1) between x86+x64

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Sorry now I get more clearly what you mean but you are still wrong:
No drive has been selected before clicking on the downward arrow a second time.
Wrong!

You selected the actual drive when you clicked on the arrow for the
first time and thats why it looks like there is a color change when
you close the box when in fact you just stumbled on normal DropDownBox-Behaviour (at least in delphi) - see as example:
http://home.arcor.de/gelber.elefant/tccolors.exe

PS: Sorry it would have been easier to spot if the mousepointer would have been seen on your pictures :/

Hello, Sir_SiLvA.

My little experiment was triggered by Valentino's correct statement that the drive combobbox edit field use different background colours in T.C. 8 32-bit and 64-bit.
This is correct.
Whether you notice or not may depend on your Windows and on your Total Commander settings.

In order not to distract attention from Valentino's correct statement and from my aim to illustrate that he is right, I should have neglected to explain how I can get the same blue background for a short period of time that your screenshots show, although my T.C. file panel colours are different from yours.

Cheers,
Karl

I tried to display the current drive part of the combobox in 64-bit, but failed. I also failed to keep it hidden in 32-bit, so unfortunately we will have to live with this little difference.

I do not perform any special steps.
Just open TC: see screenshot (alternative link).
Press Alt+F1: see screenshot (alternative link).

As you can see, edit field of combobox has different back colors, regardless of whether it's open or closed.
And I do not have "ahk script7addon" or similar addons.

Could you please post the [Colors]-Section of both your TCs?
Because I cant reproduce it - as soon as i set BackColor to anything it becomes set for the DriveDropDownBox too :?:

Sorry cant help it my DriveDropDown has allways the same Background-Color as the Panels.

A TC 32Bit freshly started with your settings only on Windows Xp, SP3 and Classic Theme looks like this:

What OS and Themes do you use?

May I remind you that your own animated screenshot displaying T.C. 8.00 beta on your own homepage presents DriveDropDown edit boxes having white background colour?
Cf. Sir SiLvA's Total Commander-Site

This does not really support your statement that you always only get DriveDropDown edit boxes having the T.C. filepanel background colour as your screenshots in this thread suggest: tccolors_valentino.jpg and tccolors.jpg

As your own homepage illustrates what Valentino reported, you might let us know which setting is responsible for the whilte background here.

Karl

*autsch* you got me there - im so used to them having the same color i dint noticed it that day - at least It has nothing to do with 8.0 as the screenshot is from 7.5x something...
(and these points out that its not a fault of any theme or os...)

OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1 English 64 bit.
Theme: one of the default Aero themes, don't remember which one because I saved it with my name.
