Maybe a nonexistent plugin?
Try to start TC with the following parameter:
/i="C:\TestTC.ini"
This creates an empty ini file in the root of c:
TC starts with the default settings. Does the problem persist? If no, you can check the old ini file for plugins or other.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

TC will not fail if a configured plugin is missing. It must be a serious driver bug, TC uses only documented user interface functions, nothing special. It also seems to be limited to only a few systems, I got almost no similar reports via e-mail.

This dll is firmed "Microsoft Windows 2000 Beta 2"

With the original file from the WINDOWS 98' OSR 2:

MSVCRT.DLL 266.293 05/05/1999

TOTAL COMMANDER works EXCELLENT, GREAT, OK!!! yes... yes...

Thanks to ALL, friends

Ghisler: Please, try to add more customization color, like:
directory, directory brackets, may be file info, bar progress
etc. Only a suggestion, because the program is wonderfull as is.
Thanks again GHISLER.
Best regards.
